You may see EWG referenced on some of our products and pages. But what does it mean?
In their words, Environmental Working Group (EWG) is a non-profit and non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment.
Their Skin Deep® and Guide to Healthy Cleaning database was the first consumer tool to help people understand the potential impact of specific ingredients in our personal care and beauty products.
While many guides and third-party certifications are currently out there, we started with EWG as a guide because:
- It has a long history as a pioneer.
- Anyone can access the information, there’s no membership or fee.
- EWG is involved in consumer advocacy and legislation for transparent product labeling.
EWG gauges ingredient safety, full and transparent labeling practices and manufacturing processes that align with consumer and eco-safety.
We admire the mission of EWG and encourage every consumer—of natural or conventional products—to look beyond any product marketing to make more informed decisions.
Knowledge is power and you vote with your dollars.
Thanks for choosing Aunt Fannie’s.
