Aunt Fannie’s Extra Strength Cleaning Vinegar is our go-to DIY cleaning superstar.  Here is a laundry list, pun-intended, of the many ways you can use vinegar to clean around the house.

Kitchen

  • Clean the microwave: Steam 1 cup vinegar + 1 cup water for 5 minutes, then wipe clean.
  • Deodorize the dishwasher: Run a cup of vinegar in the top rack (empty dishwasher) on hot.
  • De-grease stovetops: Spray full-strength vinegar on greasy spots; let sit and wipe.
  • Polish stainless steel appliances: Spray with undiluted vinegar and buff with a soft cloth. Or try our vinegar-based Stainless Steel Cleaner.
  • Deodorize garbage disposals: Freeze vinegar in ice cube trays, toss cubes down disposal, and grind.
  • Remove mineral buildup from coffee makers: Run a brew cycle with half vinegar, half water.
  • Clean the fridge: Wipe shelves and drawers with 50/50 vinegar and water.
  • Freshen up trash cans: Spray inside the bin with vinegar, let sit, then rinse.
  • Deodorize sink drains: Pour baking soda, then vinegar, down the drain; flush with hot water.
  • Descale kettles: Boil vinegar and water, then rinse well.

🧽 Bathroom

  • Blast soap scum on showers and tubs: Spray full-strength vinegar; let sit, scrub off.
  • Shine faucets and fixtures: Wipe down with vinegar-soaked cloth to remove mineral spots.
  • Unclog slow drains: Pour baking soda then vinegar into the drain, let fizz, flush with hot water.
  • Clean toothbrush holders: Soak in a vinegar bath, rinse thoroughly.
  • Polish mirrors: Spray vinegar + water (1:1) and wipe with a lint-free cloth.
